Thought of the day: "Wow. Summer is almost halfway over."

Wow...who would have thought our un-plugged version of The MacDaddys show would enjoy so much success??  We are having a blast playing some smaller venues with this new format, but look for a great summer schedule featuring full band performances as well.  Thanks everyone for making room for both formats!

We are also going to be playing quite a bit in Indy surrounding the upcoming 500!  A few acoustic shows in the suites, some private parties and firming up a club appearance or two as well!

Big love, and see you soon.

Stellar year so far for the band.  Good venues, a mix of acoustic and full band, new fans, new songs, a soon to be world famous roadie, and a brick.  Life is good.  Great summer venues and parties to look forward to.  Thanks for making it fun!!!

WE NEED HELP!!!  We need our friends to join our fan page on Facebook!!  What is cool is that you can upload fan pictures and video....so take lots of pics at our show of your group or the band and load up our fan page!!!  Just search it under "The MacDaddys" and you will find us.  Tell your friends.  Your cousin. That guy you dated in Junior High.  Your boss.  Tell everybody!  If you do, we could eclipse the 1,000 member mark soon.  There is also a discussion board on the fan page and we should start some topics about songs requests and venues you would like to see us play....check it out!

Thanks for your help and loyal support!!!  Can I get a Yay-yuh?

Having a great February, but loading in and out in this snow is a killer!!  Our gigs have been a blast...loving the variety of playing Hulman Center for 1000 people last weekend, to playing an acoustic show at the coolest 50 seater around (The Speakeasy) and then to a Pacer post-game party downtown Indy.  Still adding more material each show, and getting ready to become the first ever band (at least that we know of) to serve pie and coffee in our on-stage VIP area during the shows.  We are also working on roasting our own beans to produce a trial run of The MacDaddys Magic Bean Coffee.  It will be a highly caffeinated blend that also induces dancing and good times.

Also a big thanks to everyone for making our new bass player, Dave "Big Love" Amerman feel welcome and part of the great weekend madness we all experience together.  In his spare time, Dave enjoys skinny-skiing and refurbishing civil war era rifles.  He is also a copy editor for a Congressional publication and a certified lightbulb repair technician.  He is a veteran of the local music scene, having spent many years in the famous "Eddie and the Motivators".

That's it for now.....we be seein' ya.

What a great start to the year with a killer show at Mulligans in Terre Haute last night.  We had fun with new tunes, a huge crowd, and some fine, fine dancin'.  We've got the mojo flowin' and looking forward to seeing you again soon!

December 21st, 2009

As 2009 comes to a close, we want to thank all of our friends for their support of the band over the last 13 years!!  To be honest, I was concerned about year #13 of the band being the proverbial "unlucky" one....I was traveling more, we were playing less, and I was certainly losing my enthusiasm.  As our 13th year comes to an end I realize now that is really wasn't a loss of enthusiasm at all, but rather the strain of the everyday challenges we all face.  2009 was a tough year on all of us, and we are ready to move on to a great 2010!  This band was originally founded on a solid principle that playing music on the weekends was a safe haven for us to get away from the everyday strains of a normal work week where we balance our jobs, family life, and relationships.  If we relax at week's end and have fun playing music it will create an environment for the patrons of the clubs and private events that enables them to let their hair down and enjoy life for a while.

It's a two-way street, and we want to thank you for giving so much love back to us over the last 13 years.  We are honored, flattered, and lucky to have fans who enjoy what we do.....and believe me, WE enjoy what we do.

2010 will be a refreshing mix of music and venues, with all the typical shenanigans that you've come to expect from The MacDaddys.

Happy Holidays and best wishes for a great 2010.

Looking forward to the sneak peek of the new acoustic show this weekend.  Andy, owner of the Speakeasy at 18th & Wabash in Terre Haute has been a longtime friend of mine and we are glad to debut this new show at such a cool and intimate venue.  We are not advertising this show to the general public, but it is open to all.  We figured word of mouth among our fan base would suffice and it looks like it will be a packed house!!  We are really looking forward to sharing some interesting arrangements of our current playlist, plus many new surprises as well.  Hope to see you all there.

Big Love, TMD
